Overwatch image5/29/2023 ![]() After creating a story about the optimistic environment of the Earth in the near future after the global crisis, the developers sought to create a variety of heroes that would cover gender and ethnicity as part of this situation. Some Overwatch elements borrow assets and concepts from the canceled Titan project. Part of the Titan team developed the Overwatch concept, based on the success of first-person team shooters like Team Fortress 2 and the popularity of multiplayer online battle arena games, creating a hero-based shooter that emphasized teamwork. Overwatch is the fourth major Blizzard franchise to appear after the cancellation of ambitious massive online multiplayer role-playing game in 2014. It was released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows in May 2016, and the Nintendo Switch in October 2019. In addition, Blizzard added new characters, maps and game modes after the release, all for free, with additional costs for players being optional additional loot boxes to earn cosmetic items. Initially, the game was launched only with a casual play, but after the release, a competitive rank mode, various arcade game modes and a server browser customizable by the player were added. Players receive cosmetic rewards that do not affect the gameplay, such as character skins and victory poses when they play the game. ![]() Players in a team work together to secure and protect control points on the map or to accompany the payload on the map for a limited time. The overwatch, described as a “ shooter of heroes,” distributes players into two teams of six people, each of which selects from a list of more than 30 characters known as “heroes,” each of whom has a unique style of play, which is divided into three main roles, which match their purpose. Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment.
